Introduction

This is my personal website on the Internet. The above sketch I made with pen and ink. It is of a 17th century Old Believer community, an early and primary center for the Old Orthodox Faith. Who am I? You may call me John Alden, which is what my earthly parents named me when I was born. What is the purpose of this site? To show a little of how I have tested and proven Faith, to tell some of what Hope there is today and to hear good comments about the same. I will work unendingly to point out the Love Immortal, where it can be seen and also to warn of what is contrary to it.

For those interested, and with some reluctancy, I will explain a bit more about myself. I was born in Los Angeles during the early spring of 1962. My family have lived in the USA prior to it being a nation, since Plymouth Rock (or Provincetown). I have traveled around much of the USA, but nowhere else so far. Most recently I have been wandering around the Southern California area. I camp in various places at different times, usually in the mountains and under the trees, in isolated and hidden places. Nil Sorsky has rules for his fellow ascetics, they were to have no earthly country and no earthly name. So, I here start the practice of renouncing mine for earthly perpetuallity.

A few opening disclaimers: I do not claim to be completely Christian, but only hope to be found a faithful, loving bond-slave of Christ in the Final Day. To that end I am at an introductory level to the Russian Old Orthodox Believers, the strong Pomorsky ones, aka the Stranniki (a transliteration of a Russian meaning Runaways). There are still some who practice this good way today, I desire to be just like them. My personal belief is that man-made electricity is demonic, like a false god, therefore the entire Internet is unholy. Perhaps people may be able to glean from it something of what is right. The Internet is truly antichrist-like. Scripture is not accurately translated into unholy languages as English, so we should not make much of such quotations here. The most I can say of this website is that it is a small warning for those who might begin to recognize all the dangers which surround us, showing things that need more of our attention.

This website is not possible to be perfect, how can anything be perfect that in the first place could not be, and secondly, is not Orthodox? It is possible to live perfectly compared to those in this world, but it requires delineation and separation. In the effort to be Orthodox we must die to being part of this world, staying away from our earthly flesh and depart from everything devilish. This means that I believe there will come a time in my life, soon, when I will not be using such worldly things as computers, etc. No matter who we are, we are all expected to test and prove what is right. Since the law of God is written on the hearts of each one of us, none of us has any excuse for disobeying it. My own opinion is not what matters, only the opinion of God matters.

Please don’t discount what I am saying here without a very good reason. I would appreciate being given any good correction, if believable I will correct both the message on this site and my personal stand. I am happy to learn the correct way, as I have been corrected often. I recognize that none of us will ever know it all, but I seek after what is complete for us, what has been given to us for Life, what is good. So this site is dedicated to what is good, for goodness sake.

I work on this web site mostly alone, so normally I have nobody double checking my work, except for a few kind souls who mention one or two things from time to time. So I beg forgiveness for any real errors found within. I do check and recheck the information, and have been seeking to know what is going on with the topics I mentioned for a good portion of my time in this world. This site is a culmination of that effort, an electronic location (for whatever it is worth) where a concise or condensed repository of my notes can be found. If we always keep on seeking what is right there is no doubt that the Lord will reveal the truth to us in the end. One thing that I am certain of is that we will not find an error free web site. Even Hitler got something right when he said, “The truth is the best propaganda.” But what Hitler did not understand is that there are fewer examples of real and true teachers than he realized.

This site was made using the demonic Windows XP operating system and for it to be viewed using the wicked Internet Explorer 8. I apologize for any incompatibility issues with other computer systems. Over the 20 some years of honestly searching to submit myself for the approval of God I have learned that the word “martyrdom” should be understood as “witness.” So this web site is a testimony to the world of my experience in the pursuit of giving true-glory to God. Except for this sentence, anything underlined will always be a hyperlink, where you will find more information about the word(s).
